How we started

Our Story

SHARED VISION

Glacier Nurse Direct was founded through a shared vision of two hospice nurses. Working in the system in various capacities over the years, we realized how fractured and broken our healthcare system was and how it was failing our loved ones, especially the aging population.

FRUSTRATION BY THE SYSTEM

  • Experiencing patients becoming a piece of paper and a chart leaving nursing care more limited than necessary.

  • Observing adult children trying to maintain a healthy relationship with their parents while managing the strain of overwhelming healthcare decisions.

  • Seeing families torn apart with hard healthcare decisions at what should be one of the most sacred and sweet times together.

SHARED BELIEF

GND was born from a shared belief that there is a better way to serve our patients in the community home nursing setting. We act as guides to navigate the healthcare complexities, to give you options, & empower you to make your own decisions. Our mission is to fill the gaps left by the traditional healthcare system.  We operate between the silos keeping you, the patient, at the center of your care as you should be.

Marcy Kleinjan, RN

Owner-Operator

Montana native & U of Montana graduate, Marcy has been an RN since 2007, working throughout Western MT. Her nursing experience includes oncology, cardiac, rehab & geriatrics, but primarily home hospice & end-of-life care. Early-on, she recognized the gap in health care patients were experiencing. Many without insurance, patients still needed in-home care, but were outside the home health/hospice realm.

Fast forward to 2022. Post-pandemic, Marcy was nearing burnout & called fellow RN, Kristy Naylor. Not long after, GND emerged, becoming the Flathead Valley's first, private-pay, concierge nursing business, giving patients the freedom to receive direct care wherever & whenever.

In her free time, you'll find Marcy, woodburning, skiing, or out hiking with her husband & dogs. Her compassion & lighthearted sense of humor always leaves patients smiling - satisfaction guaranteed.

Kristy Naylor, RN

Owner-Operator

With a bachelor's degree of science from Montana State University, Kristy is an experienced RN with 26 years of nursing. Thirteen of those years she cared for end-of-life & home care patients. Kristy is passionate about caring for people and being of service. As she'll tell you, nursing chose her & is woven into the fibers of her being - like breathing.

Honesty & integrity are Kristy's priority when caring for patients. Always smiling, her mix of compassion & sass put patients at ease. A born & raised Montanan, Kristy resides in Somers with her husband & family where they built their dream A-frame home. In her spare time Kristy surrounds herself with friends & family, reads, enjoys craft cocktails & watching Bobcat football.

Casey Mackert

Business Manager

Casey (Marcy's sister) took a path that led to a degree in Business Management & Marketing. After graduating in 2004, she spent 8 years working for an educational cooperative in Sturgis, SD. When life took Casey back to NE Montana, she worked for the power company (3 yrs) & met her lineman husband Hank.

In 2016 they moved to Hank's hometown of Island Park, ID (outside of West Yellowstone.) Shortly thereafter, Casey created CH Mack Co. & offers an array of remote business services in addition to being a stay-at-home mom. When the idea of Glacier Nurse Direct began to take shape, she joined the Marcy & Kristy to provide office & business support. Casey says her biggest reward professionally comes when she can use her creativity & problem solving skills to make people happy.
